Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate

The Oracle Certification Program begins with the Associate level. At this apprentice skill level, Oracle Certified Associates have a foundation of knowledge that will allow them to act as a junior team member working with database administrators or application developers. Earning your Oracle Certified Associate credential as a beginning IT professional will give you recognition for your foundation of knowledge using Oracle technologies. This recognition will differentiate you from those without any credentials, and can help you build your career by obtaining access to entry-level opportunities. To become an Oracle Certified Associate, you must pass the exams required for the Oracle Certified Associate level of your selected job role. To earn the Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate credential, two exams are required; the first one can be taken via the Internet, while subsequent exams must be taken in a proctored environment. You must pass the following two exams to obtain your Oracle9i DBA OCA credential: § Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL (#1Z0-007) This is an online exam. It is also available at Oracle University or Authorized Prometric Test Centers. OR Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL (#1Z0-001) If you previously passed exam #1Z0-001, you will not be required to pass exam #1Z0-007. § Oracle 9i Database: Fundamentals I (#1Z0-031) This is a proctored exam that is only available at Oracle University or Authorized Prometric Test Centers

Where to Register for Exams?

From the US or Canada, you can call Prometric at 1.800.891.3926 to register for an exam. If you are in the US or Canada, and you are disabled and require special assistance when completing your exam, call the above number and ask to be referred to the Special Assistance office. This office can answer questions about what accommodations can be made for people with disabilities. If you are from a country other than the US or Canada, follow your normal registration procedures through your local testing center or your Prometric Regional Service Center, and inquire about special accommodations while you are registering. You will not be able to arrange special accommodations if you register

Information on Applying Voucher Discounts toward certification exams

If you have received an exam discount voucher, please note that vouchers can only be used once, by one person and toward one exam. Vouchers issued for exams to be delivered in an Authorized Prometric Testing Centre cannot be used for the online version of exam #1Z0-007, and vouchers issued for an online exam cannot be used in a testing centre. The expiration date on your voucher refers to the last date you may register, not the last date you may take the test. You must register by the expiration date printed on your voucher, but at the time of registration you may select a testing appointment that is further in the future. If you have received a voucher, but have not been able to use it before it has expired, we apologize, but it is not possible to offer extensions. Once a voucher has expired, the voucher number is void and will not be accepted.
